We will be hosting a series of free training sessions that look at the process of producing a creative community event. The training course will cover all aspects of production, including creative planning, community engagement, fundraising, delivery and evaluation.
The Clapham Park Creative Co-op is planning to produce an event on Saturday 04 May at the new Clapham Park Community Centre featuring some of the work we’ve produced in the first year of the project, and celebrating the creative talent in and around the estate. We will be using the delivery of a May 4th community event to put your skills into practice.
While our focus will be for the May event, the types of community and organisational skills that will be discussed and put into practice are highly transferable and can be useful in many type of projects.
About Justin
The course will be led by Justin O’Shaughnessy, a teacher and Producer with 30 years experience of project delivery with organisations such as Tate, Institute of Contemporary Arts, Serpentine Gallery, Frieze Art Fair, Rich Mix, Shoreditch Trust, City University and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He is also Chair of Open School East and an Advisory Committee Member at Tate Britain.
Who is this for?
Though we are particularly interested working with Clapham Park Estate residents, we are welcoming anyone with an interest in learning these skills. Prior experience is not necessary, just an interest in learning and applying new skills. We only ask that you are available for at least 80% of the sessions.
