Enid gardens for the community

When I first moved to Clapham Park over 50 years ago, I was the first black person around here. So I’ve lived here a long time. I keep busy; I help with the Over 50s Coffee Mornings and I do the Tai Chi. I also do a bit of gardening in the space in front of my flat. I’m one of the community gardeners on the Estate and Metropolitan usually gives us plants to do it. It’s something to keep you gardening, innit. Hydrangeas, roses, dahlias, sweet peas… I also grow plants on my balcony. I like to take care of things around me. If you care about where you live, you should look after it. Who else is going to do it?
