Who: Are you based in London or surrounding areas, aged 16-24 and on Universal Credit? We’ve received funding through the government’s Kickstart Scheme to hire a Digital Production Assistant to support the Clapham Park Creative project. You will be part of the team at Counterpoints Arts — a national organisation in the field of the arts, migration and social change — and receive mentorship and training opportunities.
Hours: 25 hours a week
Salary: National Minimum Wage
Duration: 6 months
There are two positions you can apply for:
1. Digital Production Assistant (PopChange/Clapham Park Creative Co-op): Supporting the Clapham Park Creative Co-op and the Pop Culture and Social Justice Initiative (PopChange). We are looking for someone that has either knowledge or interest in local heritage, socially engaged art or video games.
2. Digital Production Assistant (Counterpoints Arts): supporting Counterpoints Arts and Refugee Week 2021.
Essential Skills:
- Skills in producing video, audio, photographic and graphic content for social media and/or installations;
- Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, and digital engagement platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Zoom, Slack;
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of an online team while working independently from home;
- Willingness to contribute ideas and research to planning and production, and step into other roles as and when needed;
- A commitment to the aims and overall mission of Counterpoints Arts.
Desirable experience:
- PopChange/Clapham Park Creative Co-op position: Keen interest or knowledge of video gaming and/or public art, and knowledge of Clapham Park.
- Existing networks and relationships built across the creative and culture industries.
- Knowledge of website design and tools including experience with HTML, WordPress, Mailchimp.
- Keen interest in working around issues of social justice, migration and/or diversity.
Please note: Both positions will be working from home, with occasional meet-ups in Hoxton or Clapham Park. Home office equipment and digital tools will be provided where needed.
Applicants will have the opportunity to learn about Counterpoints Arts work and also benefit from mentoring/training throughout both positions.
